Småland
August 17, 2007
They grow apples in Småland like they grow oranges in Orange >County.
endless rows of perfectly pruned apple trees
stopping at a roadside apple juice stand
There\s noone there at the moment, but just leave a 20 in the jar and take a bottle...of excellent apple juice.
Later, a snake on the walkway...
...to the pebble beach.
a moment to relax
We're now in Stenshuvud National Park
polished by the seas for centuries...
...into fine, white sand.
This landscape has not changed for hundreds of years.
overlooking the rolling hills of Brösarps backar.
Change of scenery; in the small town Älmhult lies the birthplace of IKEA.
Like many other companies, Ingvar Kamprad started out selling chairs out of his garage.
Småland is dominated by rivers, why here is an abundance of mills and factories.
water rushing through the gates
at Huseby Bruk
wheat mills
grain sorting
an old-fashioned scale
And we continue along the roads of Småland...
