Going back to Sweden
- Kirkwood ski weekend
February 10, 2007

What was supposed to be 3 months ...ended up being 3 years.
Finally, today was the day I left Sydney withouta return ticket.
A new job in Stockholm is the next step on my journey ...

The first stop on our way home is South Lake Tahoe, where Hannes had organised a ski weekend together with 16 (!) of his friends.

On Friday night, we all squeezed into a house about 50min drive from the slopes of Kirkwood.

The next day we headed out. It was my first ski day in 3 years. I have to say that the conditions were not ideal ....

... and nor was my technique. I felt like "Bambi on ice"!

So we retreated back to our comfy house and a beer quite early. Hannes had bought a case of Fosters, as he felt we needed to contribute with something Australian (not that anyone drinks Fosters in Australia ...)

Amaya showed off some Spanish cooking skills

And with a bit of effort we managed to squeeze everyone in around the table

I think I counted to 10 nationalities around the table

It was Christof's birthday, and he received a very timely gift...a huge wall clock.
(designed in Spain, bought in a Swedish design store in Australia, then given to a German living in America!)

Gara and Henrik

Amaya and Julien

Christof and Imola

To finish off the day, some of us decided to take our beers and head for the jacuzzi out back

(This must look terrifying to an Aussie ... :-)

The water was hot ... very hot ...

... which soon forced us to go cool off in the snow
(The beers had nothing to do with it, honest)

Next day, the weather was a bit better, so we headed for the slopes again
