Going back to Sweden
- England
February 19, 2007
England next (and another 10 degrees less on the thermometer!) where we headed up to Bristol to visit my sister, Louise, and her boyfriend, Mårten.
As they had recently moved to Bristol themselves, we set out to see what this city had to offer in terms sight seeing
The city centre is dominated by this huge cathedral
Even more magnificent on the inside than on the outside
The church hosted an exhibition where people had made paintings out of party photos, very cool concept!
Moving on to one of the highest bridges I have ever seen
Imagine bungy jumping from that height!
The next day we headed in to London. You might recognise Picadilly Circus
In the evening we went to see the musical "Cabaret". As a fan of musicals, I'd give it 3 out of 5.
Our last day in England offered sunshine from a bright blue sky
(Ok, you Aussies might not see the point here but this is something unusual in London)
This type of house is so London to me!
First stop was however indoors; I went to get some clothes at the only shop where EVERYTHING fits me, Long Tall Sally. It's the best!
Then we went to see some famous sights, like Big Ben ...
... the Parliament ...
... Westminster Abbey ...
... and the London Eye
Time for us to head out to the airport for the last leg of our journey home
It proved to be the most complicated one, since Heathrow airport security made us repack two laptop bags into one!
(Yep, that is 3 laptops in there!)
But in the end, at 10pm on a very cold and wintery February night, we finally touched down on Swedish ground.
We're back!
