Twilight sailing
November 1, 2006

"Chainsaw" leaves the downtown Sydney dock under a warm afternoon sun.

Christine, Gemma, Mark, Janine, Mick and John heading out on Sydney Harbour

In the lee behind Clark Island, we set sail.

Christine on cunningham

racing around at 10 knots

Quite a view from these apartments

crowded

All lined up, ready to start

Shortly thereafter, someone rips a headie to pieces.

pushing the limit

again, crowded

Gemma and Christine trimming, Mick by the wheel

Clouds develop; we'll get rain for the rest of the week.

our boom, their pole

squeezing by

Clark's Island in Sydney Harbour

Lined up on the high side, "weight high", are Scott, Gemma, Christine...and the rest of us.

Spinaker sailing on a Sydney 38: The kite has 6 lines, its pole 4 more! Then there's hoisting, jibing, taking it down...all to be done by me this coming Saturday as "foredeckie"!
