Monument Valley
June 11, 2006

To break up a long day of driving, we go a little off-road in the Monument Valley.

The day starts in Grand Canyon Village, with Christine checking in on work stuff...

After a hearty breakfast, we head out east.

We check out an old watch tower along our way...

...but quickly get chased off by a million little flies.

A few stops along the way to investigate some local Indian jewelry.

Suddenly along our way, we find dinosaur tracks...

...not to mention old dino poop!

And so, the desert opens up...and swallows us.

We tackle the dirt roads in Monument Valley...

...to experience some spectacular scenery.

-Your doing fine on these roads, Car.

We ran into panoramic photographer Jook Leung of 360VR Photography who took a nice virtual panorama of the spot by Three Sisters.

A warm wind is sweeping through the valley...

...as the sun sets.

A late-night steak in Mexican Hat.

A full moon rises, and we continue our journey northeast...
A warm night, top-down driving into the stars.
