Lunch at Pelles Rökeri
September 22, 2006

Looking out the window, I see nothing but blue skies and a rising bright sun.

I quickly get on my bike, and head out west.

Even though it's Friday morning and the roads are near empty, I keep my flag out to keep cars at a safe distance.

quick stop by a pristine lake view

We call this harmless guy a "copper snake".

5 inches tall, as a kid I thought this "kaveldun" looked like a microphone.

view from the bridge to Skatfö

Grundsund, a small fishing village built around a narrow sound.

I stop by rewarded "Pelles Rökeri" for a real gourmet lunch.

a very refreshing coke (while I almost never drink sodas)

salad with mussles

Chicken, vegetable and pasta wok for main. 40km of headwind makes you quite hungry!

enjoying the view while feasting

I will definately make this dessert myself some day; so simple: ice cream, cumquats, passion fruit, grapes, banana.

The beauty of scrambling about on your bike is that you can follow every spur of the moment...and explore those little side roads.

No roads, no neighbors, no nobody. Just open space, open air, high ceiling.

Fresh pavement, no cars. Me and my bike just died and went to heaven.

Fiskebäckskil

Looking across Gullmare Fjord, I see Lysekil on the other side.

Zooming in...

...you can see what time it is: 2.40pm.

The ferry arrives at 2.55, so I soak up some sun while waiting....it's sooo hot today. Perfect, late September.

Here we go...

Leaving Fiskebäckskil behind...

...and landing in Lysekil 10 minutes later.

I can even begin to count the number of times I have sailed into this harbor.
-But I've only biked here once before.

Hanging out in the sun, while making a long distance phone call :-)

watching the boats come and go

my second ice cream today

a downtown park

Can't resits a local beer in the hot afternoon sun

The long way around, or the shortcut by ferry?

I decide to wait for the ferry. And enjoy ice cream #3 :-)

this one carries cars as well

Can't stop soaking today...must be Indian Summer, this?

I wonder how an FFT of this picture would look? :-)

idyllic site for a home

...with a great view of the sunset.

It's now 90km later...good night.
