Australia Zoo

After climbing Mt Beerwah we spent the afternoon at Steve Irwin's Australia Zoo.

Even though 80% of Australia's species are unique in the world, we focus on the well-known ones...



The sun is almost straight up, making a very small shadow under this Emu.



Related to the ostrich, and sounds like a drum. Boom, boom, boom.



The koalas seem to spend most of their day sleeping...
...and eating eucaluptys leaves.

His shell is 1.5 meters across...and he's a few hundred years old.


Makes me feel like a youngster.
