Angel Island by ferry
November 13, 2005

Our day on the bay started on the 9:30 train from Rockridge BART station.
Nothing but clear, blue fall skies.

Jane joins Imola, Javier, Eithne, and me by the Pier 41 ferry docks in San Francisco.

Ok, let's go!

Leave the bustling city behind...

...and full steam ahead!

Alcatraz

Californians have this way of asking for trouble....when building houses in blatantly obvious land-slide areas!

There's a Hallberg-Rassy (made in Sweden) moored in the paradise cove on Angel Island.

All set, and ready to go.

Up, up, up...heading for the peak of Mt. Hamilton.

These vines have been climbing this tree for a while..and grown quite thick!

piggy-back

short break

First stop, quick lunch for Eithne...with a view.

Carry on up....literally.

At the peak, we spread our pic nic across the table, and start indulging.

What's this...?

Oh, ok...um...right.

Quite handy, that!   (hover image)

you can't see me....you can't see me...

Ok, let's head down to our ferry.

eastbound

I will remember this day as sunny and hot...and quiet.

Not to mention peaceful.

Yep, life can be at times.

Eithne is watching a raccoon

Very cute...until you see his teeth.

heading back

Stopping by Tiburon...

...and Sausalito. Lots of bikes.

Massive amounts.

a delicate late fall sunset cruise

The sky's on fire tonight.

passing by Alcatraz again

Back in SF, we head on to North Beach for Italian style Sunday night dinner.

Jeff and Mariel joined us for a bite at Panta Rei.

Tasty end of a grand day out.
