One of my favorite hikes starts right at my front door...
...and straight up the street.
Make a left on College.
Then right on Claremont, towards the hills. Don't miss the fall colors.
Left around the Claremont Hotel...
...you'll find Tanglewood Ave.
And - start up the hill.

The higher you go, the better the view.
Berkeley is dotted with color this time of year
It's muggy today. They say rain is moving in this afternoon.
It's a 20 minute hike up the hill. And another half hour from my house.
This is the reward.
On top of the world...about an hour away.
I hope these guys have land slide insurance.
And I hope it's not my tax money.
The same trail down the hill...through bushes, trees.
That's one massive eucalyptus.
back on pavement
Back on my street again. It's nice to live close to good hiking and good vistas.
I guess that's one reason this is an attractive neighborhood.
This little thing just went for close to a million bucks.
