Devil's Peak
March 1, 2003

As usual, a good fresh start in the morning.

Morning still being a bit fresh, we started out uphill to stay warm.

Fresh ruts in Royal Gorge.

Light snowfall calls for a "lets find that hat" stop.

Already before 10 o'clock, it's clearing up.

Devil's Peak.

skating

There wasn't enough snow to ski all the way.

Back down to th warming hut, to make some...

...hot...

...chocolate!

Such a treat. Will remember spoon next time.

Marta flying back down the hill...

...and still making that turn!

The day brought about 40km of cross-country.

Hey, let's play in the bunny slope for a while!

Need to practice those stop-turns.

Topping the day off by soaking up some sun and an icecream.

Later in the afternoon, I headed out snow-shoeing, up a hill behind the cabin.

The view is quite spectacular from up there.

I got some company on my way back down.

Anyway, finding my way back down was easy. Simple backtracking :-)

Afterwards, some vegging in the cabin
